Shower thought🚿: The 2nd best time to plant a tree?
My grandfather loved fruit trees. Being born and raised on a small farm in south central Italy, he and his brothers were taught how to live off the land. They farmed, herded sheep, and yes, planted many trees.
He and his three brothers eventually set roots down in America.
They made a home and a life out of a strange new world.
And yes, they continued to plant and share many fruit trees — Figs, Mangoes, Avocados, Starfruit, Limes, Lemons, Bananas, etc. (you name it).
My grandfather used to say to me — “The best time to plant a tree was 7 years ago…. The second best time is right now.”
There’s a lot of noise right now.
We live in a world that can feel hopeless.
We see what we cannot change.
We can Paralyze ourselves in the Present.
The present it just yesterday’s future, and tomorrow’s past.
Plant trees that will bear fruit.
Lay down strong roots.

How to effectively ramp up your momentum
Mastering Momentum: Part 3 - (Ramping up)
Need to Catch up? Part 1, Part 2
To the beat of your own drum.
That’s how you dance with momentum.
Whether it’s a waltz or a swing — it’s your dance.
How many steps you take and how fast you shake — that’s up to you.
Only you know the reality of your circumstances.
2 Rules
Want to build momentum without burnout? — Follow these two rules.
Ramp up slowly — meaning add new effort, stimuli, etc. slower than you think. I’m working on my golf game right now (yes, I know.. I’m ASHAMED 🤮). Slow for me is hitting 1 additional ball per day. As a runner, I ramp up mileage 1-2 additional miles per week.
Ramp one thing at a time — It’s OKAY not to be growing in every area of your life. Choose ONE and set short-term momentum goals.
This in practice for me is a 30-day golf challenge — starting at hitting 20 balls and increasing 1 per day until I reach 50 balls. While I’m doing this, I’m not worried about anything else other than what I can already sustain.
(i.e. I’m not doing a burpee challenge, running challenge, diet, etc. — you get the point).
Are you building momentum in any area of your life? Are you just hanging on? I’d like to hear from you either way — tell me in the comments.
THANK YOU for making it to the end!
