Staring out at nothing
This weekend I left my phone inside, curled up next to NellieDog on our (*her) outdoor couch, and stared out at nothing.
That lasted a grand total of 2 minutes before I couldn’t take it anymore. My body itched and mind searched for something to do.
And that’s the exact response I’m looking to break.
Living in a state of constant Executive Functioning
Being a parent, full-time salesperson, and starting multiple side-hustles means I live in a state of almost never-ending executive functioning. I’m constantly applying time management, self-control, discipline, and thought regulation. I direct my day, down to the 15-minute increment.

Investment in downtime
That’s why I write to you from my little nook on the couch. Before I write, I read, meditate, and slowly sip my (glorious) coffee. I’ve intentionally invested in a slow start to my morning. It’s in this “slowness” where my most creative thoughts emerge.
Now if I could only last a little longer on my outdoor couch…

THANK YOU for making it to the end!
First, parenting is a great opportunity for creativity and flexibility training so lets not leave it on the table.:) Second, travel tip # 1 for me is to be proactive taking and bringing vitamin c and zinc , along with thera-zinc (found on amazon) throat spray with me:)
