I’m on a mission to put the “Personal” back into Personal Development
Shower thought🚿: “Okay”
I lost my grandfather this weekend.
He was a role model.
An adventurer.
A loving, caring, soul who touched many.
…And a tough son of a b*****
My grandfather is the reason I’m curled up on my couch, under air conditioning, writing in the United States of America.
At age 16, his parent’s sent him to America for a better life.
He got on a ship, and sailed to New York.
He was the first of four brothers to make the eventual journey.
Sixteen.
Age 16.
At that age I was choosing what sport to play after school.
He was given a choice to leave his family and start anew in a strange land.
He was unsure.
Scared. Fearful of the unknown.
And reluctant to leave his family behind.
His parent’s, ultimately, gave him the choice.
He said “Okay”.
As a family, we now will say okay.
We will accept our new reality.
We will move forward, and honor his name.

Uncle Tony was the example of the American dream!
From herding goats in Italy, To a successful airline mechanic. He loved his family and his garden.... One of the smartest men I knew , yet he never went to college. He could build or fix anything! His health and fitness routine was hard work and long walks, including hiking in the woods. God blessed him with a long, healthy life and a wonderful loving family to be proud of. Anthony Massa was the best example of the "Greatest Generation!"
I loved and respected Uncle Tony and will truly miss his quiet ways and soft accent, His footprint will last forever!
May he rest in eternal peace🙏❤️🙏❤️
Love,
Timmie
