I’m on a mission to put the “Personal” back into Personal Development
Shower thought🚿: Be the catalyst
Every so often,
I receive news that my writing has made a difference in your lives.
Thank you for that.
I write for me, because I like it.
But, I write for you too.
Through storytelling, being vulnerable, and sharing my own personal development journey — I aim to give you something each week that benefits your life.
I want to be part of your journey, and I want you to be part of mine.
Let’s be the catalyst for positive change.
Thank you, Pranjali for sharing your story.
Keep starting fires.
-Jon

The busiest people find time to read
Mark Cuban reads 3 hours per day
Warren Buffet reads 500 pages per day
Bill Gates reads 50 books a year
Yet 46% of Americans finished ZERO books last year.
….Not great.
I’ve finished over 4 books this year, in addition to daily spiritual reading, writing this newsletter, and creating the Little Trail Runner children’s poem book.
While I’m not on CEO level, creating a morning reading habit has absolutely changed my life, expanded my knowledge, and improved my writing.
The case for starting your day with reading
Mental Clarity.
That’s what we want right?
Get this — 6-minutes of sustained reading can reduce your stress level by 68%.
Starting your day this way prioritizes you, give you a learning edge, and literally reduces the physical and mental stress we all carry.
How to develop a morning reading habit
In no particular order — here you go!
Find a place (i.e. your reading nook)
Set a timer (give yourself a reading goal)
Create a cue (something to get you in the “reading zone”, for me it’s a morning cup of coffee)
Do you have a strong reading habit? What about a book recommendation? Would love to hear from you in the comments.
THANK YOU for making it to the end!

I love your inspiration to read first and daily. I ofcourse recommend reading the Bible. It is full of history and all-time wisdom. According to Guiness, there have been over 5 billion copies sold, making it the best-selling book of all time. So thank you for starting the fire for us at cold shower in so many ways and allowing us to sit at the campfire with you ................
