I’m on a mission to put the “Personal” back into Personal Development
Shower thought🚿: Grounding yourself in Gratitude
We are tested.
We face trials & tribulations.
We get saddled with seemingly unbearable weight on our shoulders.
This is a fact of life.
Hard times are guaranteed.
We cannot avoid it. We cannot run.
Still, there’s power in gratitude.
In standing your ground, with a fixed gaze forward.
Gratitude is accepting our circumstances.
Gratitude is acknowledging that hard times form hard men.
Gratitude is appreciating little rays of sunshine in the valley.
I’m choosing Gratitude this week — are you?

Transformation Toolkit: How to start your day with Cold-Shower Clarity
(Part 5) — Need to catch up? (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4)
A familiar start to your day?
Do you rush into the office?
Crack open email and start putting out the biggest fire?
(…Hide under the covers avoiding your adult responsibilities?)
You could do that.
Or you could enter the day by clarifying your objectives, celebrating your wins, and listening to your internal voice.
Enter the (dreaded) journal.
Here’s a journaling routine that sticks.
I never journaled.
I mocked journaling.
”Why would I write to myself?” — I thought.
I’ve consistently journaled all of 2024.
It’s how I start my workday.
It’s how I achieve Cold-Shower Clarity.
Here is my routine.
Please take what works for you.
And let me know how it’s going — I’d love to hear from you.
Jonny’s Journal:
Date: ____
Grade: (I grade my previous day & explain my reasoning)
Strategic: (I list my most strategic tasks for the day)
Tactical: (I list my “to-do” list, all of my daily “work”)
ColdShower Thought: (I set my “tone” for my day)
Daily Success Story: (I document one “win” from the previous day or morning)
That’s it.
Give it a shot and see what works for you.
Are you doing something similar? Let me know in the comments.
THANK YOU for making it to the end!

My journaling is more like my thoughts of what I've learned or what I'm dealing with that is weighing on my mind ................and then I pray about it. Good take on Gratitude .....
