Recharge: Runnerās Highšāļø
Runnerās High - (noun), the euphoric feeling produced by running long distances and experiencing total clarity of thought.
Lacing emā up, again.
Every Saturday I lace up my shoes for a ālong runā. Long runs are typically slow, easy, miles. Iāve been running ~10 or so miles since the start of the year.
What I love about the long run is it forces you to get inside yourself.
Itās a mental commitment to being āin itā.
And when you go in, you can always pull something out.
Hereās a glimpse of what I pulled out last Saturday, June 29th.
The Journey Within
Set your path
Chart your course
Give way to,
this magnetic force
Alarms silenced
Turn off time
Tune into,
your inner mind
Into the darkness
Into itās depths
Your light peaking through
With each new step
Itās not where you go
Itās about going
Itās not what you know,
Itās about knowing

Refine: āHabit Anchors
How to build good habits, keep core routines, and form an identity
Forming an identity
It goes like this.
Habits + Consistency = Habit anchors
Habit Anchors + More Consistency + More time = A Changed Identity
Any strong habit anchor in your life becomes a part of your identity. When you do something consistently for long enough, it shapes you, good or bad.
Iād venture if youāre reading this, you probably drink coffee.
If I asked you about your habit, you wouldnāt say, āIām trying out coffeeā, or āIām drinking coffee for nowā.
There would be no doubt you are a coffee drinker. No doubt in your own belief.
You must believe it first.
I build habit anchors (cold showers, writing, running) because I want these things to change who I am.
To change, you must believe it first.
You must believe you can. Trust the process. And commit to the work.
Consistency over time
Now, unbridled belief without effort is just delusion.
True belief in your identity can only be achieved through consistency over long periods of time.
Work at it.
One day at a time.
Lay your bricks.
Brick by brick.
Youāll build a fortress.
THANK YOU for making it to the end!
