Twas’ a typical Saturday morning
It was mile 8 of my regular Saturday 10 miler. I was cruising down the Little Econ Greenway.
I typically tune out my surroundings when road running. But this morning while cruising along, a scene drew me in like a magnet.
Something was off…
Or so I thought. We’ve all seen this “scene” - A dad slowly jogging behind his son, supporting his balance as he takes his first “no-training-wheels” ride. His mom and sister proudly watching off in the distance.
Something was “off” in how I remembered this movie about a boy and his dad. All the love was there. All characters were present. But the son wasn’t a 3-5 year old boy. He was larger, possibly an early teenager.
Never too old to learn
Then it hit me — “That took incredible courage.” What a breakthrough this is for that boy to finally learn how to ride a bike.
Learning is difficult & our pride often gets in the way. But this kid decided to get on the bike anyway.
We can all learn new things. It’s never too late to learn (or relearn) how to ride a bike — Go head’ and hop on.

Meet Kevin Kaiser.
Founder of The Rewilded Soul — Writing about human potential, discovering our life's deepest purpose, and re-defining success.
I started reading Kevin’s Substack earlier this year. A post caught my attention — “I Spent 3 Days in Total Darkness. Nothing Happened and It Was Profound.”
Kevin and I sat down for an interview last week. We went deep on his experience at the darkness retreat, what he’s up to now, and his plans for The Rewilded Soul.
Here’s an excerpt from our interview: “Accepting the Present Moment”
Come back next week! For the rest of the month, I’ll be featuring clips & show notes from our interview.
Cheers.
